The Bohemian
A haven of laid-back luxury for the guest who wants a unique ecotourism experience

OUR ISLAND
The Bohemian Maldives is known by some locally as Feyligefushi, which means tent Island in Dhivehi, the local Maldivian language. Our resort is the first (and only) luxury tented resort in the Maldives. Why tents? Tents have limited environmental impact on the Maldives fragile eco system, sit beautifully in the resorts vegetation and are just so romantic! We only have 18 rooms so you are guaranteed privacy and space on our private beach. The Bohemian is on one of the most beautiful beaches in the Maldives , Long Beach Gan, 9.5km of palm fringed, white sandy beach with a crystal clear lagoon. Its a perfect location for nature lovers looking for eco tourism and barefoot luxury.

OUR ATOLL: LAAMU
Laamu is the “real Maldives”; an unspoiled marine paradise which has been little touched by the impact of tourism. Staying at the Bohemian, you will not be able to see any tall buildings and only the odd plane. There is a real sense of tranquility and relaxation. The people of Laamu are fishermen and farmers, and they are proud that the atoll remains little touched by tourism. You will reach Laamu by a seaplane or a scenic Domestic flight transfer which will take 50 minutes, followed by a mere 8-minute speedboat ride.

OUR PEOPLE
Our staff are dedicated to making sure that you have a great time. We are a mix of Laamu locals and other nationalities, all with backgrounds in Maldives hospitality.
We want to make sure that our eco tourists have the best experience of the Maldives and if they want to, to enjoy all of the culture, marine life and history of the Maldives (If you want to relax and just enjoy your room, the beach and the sea, that’s okay too!)
At the resort, amongst others, there are great chefs, local guides for surfing, diving and snorkeling, attentive guest relations officers and room boys who understand what clean really means!
We are committed to ecotourism and sustainability. We shop local and employ local wherever we can. We recycle and work in cooperation with the environment and local Laamu population to make sure we enhance the atoll and its people’s lives.
